Scaling Local SEO & AI Search Visibility for a Large National Retailer

Solvenna helped a leading multi-state retailer strengthen local, e-commerce, technical, and AI-search visibility through a scalable operating model spanning hundreds of stores, multiple states, and more than 10,000 products.

the challenge

For a retailer built around a reserve online, pick up in store (ROPIS) model, organic search is a critical connection between digital discovery, product research, and physical store visits. At the client’s scale, however, inconsistent SEO execution was limiting that opportunity.
The footprint included hundreds of retail locations across a multi-state region, with a heavy concentration in its largest market and a smaller presence in several emerging ones. Every location had its own local landing page, and the e-commerce catalog contained more than 10,000 SKUs.

The challenge was not simply volume. Location pages varied in design, content, markup, and optimization, with thin or generic copy and limited differentiation between stores competing within nearby local markets. Many pages were not meaningfully optimized for hyper-local search intent.

At the product level, structured data was absent or incomplete across a catalog of more than 10,000 SKUs. Technical foundations also required ongoing attention: XML sitemaps were not consistently refreshed, schema could be missing or broken, and crawlability, redirects, duplicate content, broken links, and indexation issues needed continuous monitoring and remediation.

The client also lacked a scalable review-generation strategy for individual store locations, leaving an important local-search and consumer-trust signal underdeveloped. Finally, as discovery began shifting toward AI-powered search and chat experiences, the organization needed a way to extend proven SEO practices into Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

The Solution

Solvenna established a repeatable search operating model that connected strategy, specialist recommendations, implementation, QA, and measurement. Rather than treating SEO as a list of isolated tactics, the work followed a scalable framework:

DIAGNOSE  →  PRIORITIZE  →  OPERATIONALIZE  →  VALIDATE  →  SCALE

1

Diagnosis

Solvenna combined technical audits, local-search analysis, page-level reviews, performance data, and specialist SEO recommendations to identify the highest-impact opportunities across the site.

Recurring crawls and audits surfaced issues such as broken schema, stale or incomplete sitemaps, redirect problems, duplicate content, broken links, and crawl/indexation concerns. Local-market analysis identified gaps in location-page relevance and differentiation, especially where several stores competed in nearby markets.

2

Prioritize

Findings were evaluated based on expected search impact, business value, technical dependencies, and implementation effort. Solvenna served as the operating layer between SEO strategy and execution, translating recommendations into a prioritized roadmap rather than handing teams an undifferentiated backlog.

3

Operationalize

Local SEO: Standardized and optimized location-page titles, meta descriptions, headings, hyper-local content, FAQs, and LocalBusiness-related structured data; improved differentiation between nearby stores; and strengthened consistency across Google Business Profile, Yelp, Weedmaps, and other relevant local platforms.

Review generation: Implemented a scalable location-level review strategy designed to increase the volume of customer reviews and strengthen both local-search signals and consumer trust. The program is now showing strong review growth, with final metrics to be inserted once validated.

E-commerce SEO: evaluated Magento solutions for scaling optimized product metadata and defined requirements for Product and related schema across a catalog of more than 10,000 SKUs.

Technical SEO: established ongoing monitoring and remediation for XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, broken links, duplicate content, crawlability, indexation, and structured-data errors.

AI Search / AEO / GEO: expanded content and structured-data practices to improve how search engines and AI-powered answer systems interpret the client’s locations, products, and services. This included localized FAQs, answer-oriented content, stronger schema/entity signals, clearer contextual information, and more consistent location data across authoritative third-party sources.

4

Validate

Recommendations did not stop at documentation. Solvenna coordinated implementation across Marketing, Product, IT, development teams, and SEO partners, converted recommendations into executable work, and QA’d releases to confirm templates, schema, content, and technical requirements were implemented correctly.

5

Scale

Once successful approaches were validated, they could be applied across hundreds of store pages, multiple markets, product templates, and directory listings. This created a repeatable operating model for search growth instead of a series of one-off fixes.

THE RESULTS

The program has created a stronger, more scalable search foundation and has already produced encouraging growth in local search and location-level reviews. Final performance figures will be inserted once validated by the reporting team.
